ITHAKA is a nonprofit with a mission to improve access to knowledge and education for people around the world.
I had the opportunity to design for ITHAKA as well as the beloved JSTOR as a Brand Designer.
“We preserve knowledge for future generations.”
Onward.
Under the guidance of the wonderful creative minds at ITHAKA, Liza Pagano and Natalia Arias — I was introduced to the platforms under ITHAKA that each work toward a unique path to affordable access and preservation of knowledge and education.
I was given the opportunity to lead the ALA project, in collaboration + contributions from Liza and Natalia.
Something special happened.
As we moved forward with iterations and reviews, the Brand + Creative team was able to present ITHAKA in a unified way — a way that referenced each platform ITHAKA has built.
This new direction for ITHAKA signaled a growth, a shift. It welcomed a new time for ITHAKA, one in which it’s audience is curious, bright and engaged.
ITHAKA’s presence at ALA was the first of this refreshed direction.
This project was a testament of what true collaboration among designers can amount to and I’m so thankful to have been a part of it.
ALA is a librarians coachella.
“As the world's largest library event, the ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition brings together thousands of librarians and library staff, educators, authors, publishers, friends of libraries, trustees, special guests, and exhibitors.
ALA Annual offers educational programming; important announcements and updates; relevant legislation and policies; and discussions that majorly impact libraries, their roles, and their ongoing transformation.”
