SAGE + CEDAR EXISTS TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE-BASED GRIEF SUPPORT

FOR FAMILY, WORK, RELATIONSHIPS AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN.

THROUGH A RESEARCH APPROACH—

Sage Love (she/they) is a mixed-methods researcher for a not-for-profit organization that supports libraries and postsecondary education communities.

Sage is currently designing a research initiative with an emphasis on the ways libraries participate in suicide prevention and awareness efforts. She serves as an Ambassador for the Iowa chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), working with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) on teen suicide prevention strategies for the state of Iowa.

through sage we acknowledge the hurt and pain; through cedar we are capable of rebuilding.

A warm homepage to welcome new community members into an atmospheric, trusting and light experience.

Keeping the user journey clean and succinct— from introduction of mission, to services offered, and call to actions to learn more and stay connected.

Sage+Cedar is a culmination of ten years of professional and personal experience.

From writing a thesis about LGBTQ+ loss during the AIDS crisis, to serving as the California coordinator for Compassion & Choices, to bereavement volunteership. From working in a hospice to learning how to integrate loss from multiple family suicides, to grappling with grief and family estrangement.

With a deep passion for providing people with evidence-based grief support— Sage uses research to help businesses support grieving employees and connect people to tailored resources and services.

Sage is especially interested in working with people from historically marginalized groups as well as people who are experiencing types of grief that do not get social uptake, such as suicide loss, death of a friend, animal companion death, and others.
