More than half of the U.S. lives with a chronic illness.

Chronically Informed serves chronically ill patients and their caregivers by showcasing videos that share stories of success and practical techniques for navigating the medical system. These videos create hope for patients by helping them understand that others have found ways to navigate the medical system and inspire patients to use those pathways for themselves.

BRAND DESIGN, WEB DESIGN

The cure for confusion is community.

Jessie Shay, Executive Director of Chronically Informed, reached out to me after seeing the brand and web design work I’d done for Colorado’s The Naloxone Project.

Jessie wanted to take Chronically Informed from something that felt flat and empty, to something that radiated warmth, encouragement, community and support.

It was important that the look and feel reinforced what Chronically Informed offers; an online space for community, resources and support for individuals living with chronic illness.

A community of individuals living with chronic illness deserve the same sense of joy and community as anyone else.

To ensure the brand reinforced warmth, inclusivity and community, I introduced hand-made elements to be used as graphic elements across touchpoints.

Think collage, hand-written notes and doodles.

Chronically Informed had a goal to take their brand look and feel from something clinical to something human.

I helped get them there.

Chronically Informed wanted to keep their logo the same and wanted to retain the color purple, but expand upon everything else in terms of brand look and feel.

I started by building out a logo suite for the team, as they only had one logo orientation.

A warm homepage to welcome new community members into an atmospheric, trusting and light experience.

The user journey is clean and succinct— from introduction of mission, to latest videos submitted by the community, and call to actions to learn more and stay connected.

I build unique pages to house videos and resources specifically so users can navigate seamlessly through the website, quickly finding what it is they’re looking for.
